Tiny holes in water pipes can cause recurring leaks. ProShield reviews the building’s hot and cold water system to assess whether LEaC Shield is suitable, then coordinates the equipment installation, setup and testing with qualified trades.
Corrosion control inside the pipe
LEaC Shield is a pinhole-leak prevention program for domestic water: the hot and cold water supplied to a building’s taps and fixtures. Its equipment adds controlled amounts of sodium silicate to the water. This managed treatment is intended to form a protective barrier inside the pipes against corrosion, the breakdown of metal.
A building assessment determines whether the program is suitable. It is separate from leak sensors and automatic shutoff, which detect escaped water or control flow. An active leak still needs a response and any required repair.
A site visit that starts with the whole system
The assessment reviews the building history and domestic water equipment before an installation scope is prepared. Arrange access to the water-meter and boiler rooms with the property manager or authorized building contact.

ProShield coordinates installation and commissioning
ProShield manages scheduling, equipment delivery, mounting and installation coordination. Qualified plumbing and electrical contractors complete the required connections. ProShield also coordinates commissioning: setting up the equipment and checking its operation before handover.
The building provides access to the work areas and required water, power and building systems. The installation scope and schedule are confirmed for each property.
Ongoing service has a named provider
LEaC Shield provides the corrosion-control equipment and ongoing servicing under its separate service agreement, including treatment supply and equipment maintenance. The proposal defines equipment ownership, service frequency, support and the owner’s responsibilities.
If a pinhole leak occurs during a contracted program, LEaC Shield’s support process includes assessment and pipe-sample analysis with a written findings report. Repairs and associated leak costs remain the owner’s responsibility under the supplied maintenance terms.

Is LEaC Shield the same as a leak sensor?
No. LEaC Shield is a managed corrosion-control program for domestic water piping. Sensors detect water or other monitored conditions; automatic shutoff controls flow. They address different parts of a building’s water risk.
Who installs and services the system?
ProShield coordinates installation, qualified plumbing and electrical work, and commissioning. LEaC Shield provides ongoing program servicing and equipment maintenance under its separate agreement.
What should we prepare before the site visit?
Gather a year of water-use records, the history of pinhole leaks, building age and unit counts, and details of planned plumbing work. Arrange authorized access to the water-meter and boiler rooms.
Does the program replace repairs or guarantee no future leaks?
No. Suitability and support depend on the building assessment and signed agreement. Existing leaks still need appropriate repair, and the owner remains responsible for repairs and associated leak costs.
