Pipe temperature
Hot and cold pinholes are not the same problem in disguise.
Recurring pinholes in domestic water piping often show a temperature pattern. That pattern helps a building decide whether it is looking at one failed fitting or a system that will keep opening holes.
Ask which tap was affected.
A leak that only appears when hot water runs is a different clue than a leak on a cold riser. Occupants should say which.
