An intermittent leak is still a leak. Catch it on a schedule, not by luck.
Water that only shows after laundry, after heat comes on, or after a wind-driven rain is easy to dismiss. Those are the events an investigator needs on a calendar.
Keep a two-week log.
Time, fixture use, weather, and whether the stain was wet. A short log is more useful than a remembered maybe.
Do not dry it into invisibility.
Heaters and fans on the stain can erase the only evidence. Photograph, then discuss drying with the building.
Book the visit around the pattern.
If it happens during evening showers, say so. An investigator who arrives at noon on a dry day may see a closed case that is not closed.

Can you find a leak that is not dripping today?
Sometimes residual moisture and history are enough to narrow it. Sometimes the event has to be happening. Honesty about that limit is part of the job.
Is it worth calling if it stopped?
Yes, if it stained a ceiling or a neighbour. A stopped drip can return.
